Twelve was the age when my dad and I went to Disney World together to experience the wonderful world of Disney firsthand supposedly, but eventually what became of a trip into a childhood wonderland was a bonding experience between my father and I, the time we spent there was magical in a way that gave us the freedom to try to understand each other better. It was also the last time I might have seen myself as a child in my father's eyes, or as it should have been the last attempt at relating to my father instead of the other way around, children can be so reluctant at a point when things begin to alter amongst parental components.

There were many locations there that were some of the more memorable sights and interactions that I had ever had before, times where the company of my dad was something I could actually enjoy, and the fact that he went out of his way to fly us both out there for a small bit of vacation time. I am still a bit unsure how he was able to get the kind of tickets he was able to find in a day before the integration of Internet technology and home computers, those things he finds indispensable now as he gets older in age, but still accepting of the ways around him by taking me to Disney World before the beginning of another school year.

I seem to remember distinctly the words, and I even have a picture of he and I posing in front of the camera while we were both in front of the clerk dressed in his costume with not a hint of self-consciousness, and it was after that my father and I began exploring more of the theme park over all the maps and items provided in our planners. Memorabilia that I have kept to this day, and located within a photo album that reveals a little more of the connection between my father and myself a little more and a little better, an uneasy topic today is something that I find in relating to my father well in a way quite like that one time so long ago.
